Aluminum is widely used for various purposes because aluminum is a light-weight and cost-effective material, also it can be easily processed. Anodizing is the most common surface finishing for aluminum.
In recent years, higher-class corrosion resistance was strongly demanded for the surface finishing to aluminum, and conventional anodizing treatment can’t meet the latest requirements.
To solve this problem, we have developed a silica-based thin film coating solution, Protector HB-LTC2 to provide high corrosion resistance to aluminum and anodized aluminum.
It is possible to form a silica-based, organic-inorganic type thin film coat. The films are excellent in hardness and corrosion resistance. In addition, the films can be formed by low-temperature heat treatment, so we can use the coat for anodized aluminum without causing cracks.
We have developed a new coating solution, Protector HB-LTC2 that can form thin coats on aluminum. The original metallic feeling of aluminum can be maintained and multi-color can be obtained on aluminum by adding pigments.
